Rules Governing Content
In the interest of creating a safe space in order to foster meaningful dialogue about the future of the city, the Downtown Development Authority has some guidelines we'd like users to follow to help keep things civil and respectful.
Any communication from, or on behalf of, the DDA board must avoid any hint or racist, sexist, or religious bias, or any suggestion of nasty, snide, sarcastic, or condescending tone. Civility is the overarching goal. While for many the appeal of blogs and social networks is shedding the occasionally stuffy language of print in favor of slang and colloquialisms, that is not an excuse to publish vulgar or obscene language.
In order to comment on any DDA endorsed communication forum, the commenter must provide both a first and last name. Comments left under pseudonyms, first names only, or nicknames will not be published. The subcommittee will not edit blog comments for spelling, grammar, clarity, etc. However, comments containing vulgarity, obscenity, personal attacks, or undertones of racism, sexism, or homophobia will be promptly identified and deleted.
